OCYA Information for Adults If you are a child or youth there is Information for You

Engagement and Education

The key purpose of our engagement and education efforts is to promote the rights, interests and well-being of children and youth in Alberta. We do this through ensuring that young people learn about our office, their rights and what to expect when receiving services under the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act, the Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act, or if they are involved with the youth justice system. An important part of our advocacy is providing young people, their service providers, and stakeholders with this information.

Our staff provide presentations, workshops and training opportunities on:

  • Almost anything about our office, including our Special Reports
  • Advocacy and advocacy skills
  • Children’s rights

We also host information booths and tables at conferences and learning events throughout the province.

Please contact our office if you or your group would like to learn more about the engagement and education opportunities offered by the OCYA or to book a presentation. We present to conferences, schools, university classes, group homes, youth groups, and more. You can also be added to our distribution list to hear about upcoming events.
